Editorial Design
A personal editorial project dedicated to a day in December 2022, in which I documented the music I listened to throughout the day, whilst completing various tasks. The documentation was visualized through the colour palettes of each song’s respective album cover.
This project’s visual identity was inspired by the likes of Suprematist and Abstract expressionism– with their focus on shapes– Mid-Century Modernism, Jazz album covers and Josef Albers’ colour work through his 1959 and 1964 paintings, Study of Homage to the Square. These influences presented motion and rhythm through their shapes, with Albers’ work evoking a sense of amplification through colour. These were ideas I wanted to explore in my editorial work for this project, since my concept was based around documenting music I listened to in a day.
